This series is an evolution of work done during recovery from a concussion and subsequent Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS) sustained in an auto accident in late April of 2015. It is difficult to make art when the brain doesn't cooperate. My return to art making following the accident was a slow process that did not include painting but began with stacking small rocks around my mothers lake in the cool shade of morning. This done between sleeping for 12 hours a night and 2-3 hours a day. My efforts turned to magazine pages fed through a paper shredder and a glue stick. The next iteration was mixing and matching images from magazines to make new images. Then I began cutting up old paintings and gluing them with book binding glue to sub-straights made before the accident. The work is progressing and I will upload works as it develops. For me art making has always been a catalyst for healing.
